CONTROL Resonant system requirements for every PC tier

Remedy published six PC tiers: three without ray tracing and three with it. Each tier names a resolution, a frame rate target, upscaler and graphics presets, and the hardware the studio expects to reach them. Listed in Steam announcement: Final PC System Requirements

The six tiers, target by target

The first table is what each tier is aiming at. The second is the hardware behind it. Every tier lists an upscaler preset, including Minimum, so read the resolution column as the output the studio targeted with an upscaler switched on.

The rest is the same for all six tiers: RAM 16 GB, OS Windows 10/11 64-bit, Storage 120 GB SSD. These are Windows PC figures. Handheld play is covered on the Steam Deck page, and the Mac version is not part of this graphic.

Which tier fits what you want

1080p at 30 FPS

The Minimum tier: a GTX 1070 class card with 6 GB of VRAM, Low graphics, Quality upscaler preset, ray tracing off.

1440p at 60 FPS

Recommended: an RTX 3060 Ti class card with 8 GB, Medium graphics, Balanced upscaler preset, ray tracing off.

2160p at 60 FPS

Enthusiast: an RTX 3080 or RX 6800 XT with 10 GB, High graphics, and the Performance upscaler preset, ray tracing off.

Ray tracing on an older RTX card

Ray Tracing Minimum: an RTX 2060 SUPER, RX 6600 or Arc A580 with 8 GB, at 1080p and 30 FPS with the ray tracing preset on Low.

Ray tracing at 1440p and 60 FPS

Ray Tracing Recommended: an RTX 4070 Ti or RX 9070 with 10 GB, Medium graphics, Medium ray tracing.

Path tracing at 4K

Path Tracing Enthusiast: the RTX 5080, the only card on that tier, with 12 GB and High for graphics and ray tracing.

The 4K path tracing tier is not native 4K

The top tier is 2160p at 60 FPS with the Performance upscaler preset, so the card renders below 4K and upscales. A footnote on the graphic adds that frame generation was not used when the studio tested the configurations. The PC features box on the same graphic names DLSS 4.5 and FSR 4.1 for upscaling and frame generation, but the tier figures were not measured with frame generation on. What the Steam page says

The Steam store page carries the short version, Minimum and Recommended only. Its graphics cards, processors, 16 GB of RAM and 120 GB of available space match the Minimum and Recommended columns above, and it adds a note that an SSD is required. The figures that changed

The pinned FAQ carried initial specifications first and said the full set, with performance targets, would come closer to launch. Stated in Steam discussions: the developer's pinned FAQ The final graphic replaced those earlier figures. An older guide that says 100 GB, or an RTX 3070 for Recommended, is quoting the earlier column below.
