DLC and Season Pass for CONTROL Resonant

The studio has said two things about content after launch, and one thing about the Deluxe Edition. Steam sells one DLC item, an edition upgrade rather than new content, and the studio’s FAQ does not name an expansion pass.

What is on record

  • After launch: “We will continue supporting the game post-release with updates and improvements as needed, and we’ll share more about any future plans at a later date.”
  • Deluxe: “The Deluxe Edition does not include a season pass.”

What the FAQ leaves open

The FAQ names updates and improvements as needed and says future plans will come later. It does not name a Season Pass, an expansion pass or a roadmap, and it gives no date for any of them. Steam now sells one add-on: a $10 “CONTROL Resonant Digital Deluxe Upgrade,” whose own description names the same five items as the Deluxe Edition’s extras below. That is a way for a Standard owner to buy what Deluxe already included, not new content, and it matches the FAQ’s “no season pass” answer rather than contradicting it. Beyond that upgrade, a paid content add-on cannot be assumed either way, and a price for one would be a guess. The studio has since named two free updates it is working on, a New Game++ mode and a Photo Mode; neither is DLC, and both are covered on the post-launch plans page.

What the Deluxe Edition contains

The Digital Deluxe Edition costs $69.99 on Steam, against $59.99 for the standard game. The developer’s own list of what the extra $10.00 buys:

  • The main game
  • Digital Artbook
  • Original Soundtrack
  • Untapped Artifact (Wallet)
  • Starter Resource Bundle
  • AWE Mission Outfit

The studio says untapped Artifacts are found throughout the world and crafted into usable ones in the Gap, so the Wallet in the Deluxe Edition belongs to a type of item the standard game has too.
