CONTROL Resonant release date: one unlock moment
The digital release of CONTROL Resonant opens at a single moment on every platform: 14:00 UTC on 24 September 2026. The clock below converts that moment to your time zone, and the studio’s own map shows it city by city.
Thursday, 24 September 2026 at 14:00 UTC
One instant, not a rolling midnight. The studio’s launch-times graphic gives every city a time that works out to this moment, and the Xbox catalogue and the PlayStation Store both carry it as the original release time. Everything below is that one moment, converted.
Converted to twelve cities below.

How the moment is set
Steam’s store page shows a day for the release and no clock time. Shown on Steam store page (appdetails API) The clock time comes from the studio’s launch-times graphic, which gives every city a local time that works out to 14:00 UTC. Set out in Steam announcement: Global Launch Times The PlayStation Store and the Xbox catalogue both carry the same instant, 14:00 UTC, as the original release time. Listed on PlayStation Store (US): CONTROL Resonant Also listed on Xbox store catalogue (displaycatalog API)
The studio’s launch post says the game “launches worldwide digitally on September 24, 2026” and points readers to the graphic for the time. Said in Steam announcement: Global Launch Times Because it is one instant and not a rolling local midnight, Tokyo’s clock reads 11PM on 24 September while Los Angeles reads 7AM, and both are the same second.
New Zealand and eastern Australia
Where the clock has already passed midnight, the date on the wall is one day later. The developer’s FAQ puts it in one line: “Release date in New Zealand is September 25.” Stated in Steam discussions: the developer's pinned FAQ The map marks Sydney at 00:00 AEST and Auckland at 2AM NZST, both labelled September 25th. That is still 14:00 UTC on 24 September, read on clocks ten and twelve hours ahead.

Unlock, preload and early access are three different things
Unlock is the moment the game becomes playable. Preload is an earlier download that lets you install ahead of time; a preloaded game still waits for the unlock. Early access is a head start on playing. The PS5 Deluxe window is early access, and the PlayStation Store text puts its start at 22 September; the full breakdown is on the early access page.
For Steam, Epic and Xbox, the studio’s FAQ and launch announcements say nothing about a preload day. Press articles have printed preload dates and they differ from one another, so the install button on your own storefront is the signal to go by.
The disc release is a different day
Physical PS5 and Xbox Series X|S copies follow on 15 October, so a boxed copy does not play at the digital unlock. The reason and a side-by-side are on the physical release page. To play at the unlock, the digital routes and their prices are laid out on the editions page, and the status of each console and store is on the platforms board.
