CONTROL Resonant Switch 2: the platform question

Switch 2 is not in the studio’s platform list, and the studio has not addressed it. One report relays a remark attributed to Remedy’s creative director and points to no interview a reader can open.

Switch 2 status

Not addressed by the studio

A Nintendo store listing, or Remedy naming Switch 2 in its platform list, would change this.

What the studio lists

The studio’s FAQ answers the platform question with “CONTROL Resonant will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), and GeForce NOW.” Answered in Steam discussions: the developer's pinned FAQ The release announcement names the same consoles and PC storefronts, adds GeForce NOW, and mentions a Mac version for later. Announced in Remedy: the worldwide launch announcement Switch 2 appears in neither. The PlayStation Store and the Xbox catalogue belong to other companies and say nothing about Nintendo’s console.

The one report

A Russian outlet, Gamemag.ru, ran an item that the game’s Steam news feed carried. In translation it says Remedy does not rule out a Switch 2 version, and it credits that to a new interview with Mikael Kasurinen, whom Xbox Wire introduces as the game’s creative director. Relayed in Steam news feed: a Gamemag.ru item on a possible Switch 2 version Title given in Xbox Wire: Control Resonant, self-publishing and Xbox Play Anywhere The item does not name the interview, so there is nothing to check the wording against. Not ruling something out is a long way from a plan, and the item is not a studio announcement.

What would change this

  • A Nintendo eShop listing for the game.
  • The studio adding Switch 2 to its platform list or its FAQ.
  • A named interview in which the studio’s own people say it in their own words.

Every platform the studio does name, and its standing, is on the platform status board. For handheld play the studio has spoken about, see the Steam Deck page.
